What is Bursitis?
Bursitis is referred to in the medical dictionaries as ‘The Inflammation of the Bursa’; A very simplistic definition of a not so simple disease. To be clearer on how and why this disease occurs, you will need to understand the structure of the Human body.
Causes of Bursitis:
Human body contains several joints. And in most joints you have two bones rubbing against each other. We all know that rubbing together two surfaces produces friction and friction wears things down. This is also the case with joints, or would have been but lucky for us we have special fluid filled sacs which reduce friction and allow easy movement in the joints.
These fluid filled sacs are bursae. A Bursa does two things; it acts like a cushion to absorb shock and it contains synovial cells which produce a lubricant to reduce friction between the joints. There are around 160 Bursae in the Human body. Some of these are likely to be damaged or strained from over use of our joints doing hard labor, sports or even from maintaining a sedentary position for chronic periods. When a bursa is damaged, it can swell and when it swells, it puts a lot of pressure on its surrounding regions. This can cause a great amount of pain in the area, visible swelling and tenderness.
Affected areas in Bursitis:
Although Bursitis can happen in any Bursa, there are some joints of the body which are more likely to be affected by bursitis. The most common types of bursitis are:
· trochanteric bursitis and bursitis of the hip (The inflammation of trochanteric bursa in hip bones is trochanteric bursitis)
· shoulder bursitis
· knee bursitis
· elbow bursitis
In addition ankle and thigh bursitis are also relatively frequent.
If, a bursa, instead of mildly becoming inflamed and irritated, is instead infected by pathogenic causes, then it is termed as Septic Bursitis. In this case Bursitis is due to an infection and not due to physical strain on the joints.
Symptoms of Bursitis:
Bursitis should not be confused with tendinitis. Tendinitis is due to inflammation and irritation of the tendon a distinctly separate part of human body also found in the joints. There are some general symptoms of bursitis such as:
· Pain, which increases with movement
· Tenderness in the joint area
· Swelling in the region
· Loss of movement from that particular joint
In case of septic Bursitis, a patient can have the additional symptoms:
· Redness in the affected part of the body
· The affected part feels hot when touched.
Treatment for bursitis:
Different bursitis requires different treatments. But there is a general treatment plan designed to tackle the pain that comes with Bursitis.
· Immobilizing the affected joint with a sling, splint or cast, and getting ample respite
· Physical therapy to reduce swelling
· anti inflammatory drugs
In case of septic Bursitis, antibiotic medication might be necessary. In any case a physician MUST be consulted for any and every disease and the respective treatments.
It does not matter whether you have knee bursitis or shoulder bursitis, you will be pain and luckily there are sprays which can help you alleviate the pain and reduce the swelling.
Privic’s Bursitis relief spray:
One of these sprays is Privic’s Bursitis relief spray. The Key ingredients in Privic’s Bursitis relief spray are:
· Isopropyl Alcohol
· Menthol Crystals
· Australian Eucalyptus Oil
· Camphor Powder

· Pepermint & Clove Bud Oil
These ingredients are meant to ease pain and provide a relief from inflammation in bursa. Doesn’t matter if you have trochanteric bursitis or shoulder bursitis, this spray is equally effective. Keep in mind that it is the inflammation itself which is the issue so if you can relieve the swelling, you can get rid of bursitis.
How does Privic’s Bursitis relief spray work?
To understand why exactly this spray can work wonders on the swollen painful joints during bursitis, we must look at the ingredients that form it.
The use of Isopropyl Alcohol (or rubbing alcohol as it is commonly known as) is as a medium in which all the other ingredients are dissolved. The rubbing alcohol in no way hinders the ability of other ingredients in treating bursitis and it also does not harm the body in any way.
Menthol crystals are a prime ingredient in this effective pain relief spray. Menthol crystals are attributed with the remarkable ability of reducing inflammation and providing a cooling and refreshing sensation. Menthol also has the power to provide an analgesic effect. Analgesic effect means that it can reduce pain.
Menthol crystals are concentrated form of Menthol and good quality pure Menthol crystals, like the ones employed in Privic’s Bursitis relief spray, are 995 pure Menthol. Menthol is extracted from Mentha Arvensis or mint. The crystallized form is produced naturally from the essential oil extracted from Mint. Menthols crystals can be easily dissolved in alcohol.
The science behind it:
Menthol crystals work in a simple manner. Menthol is an agonist when it comes to opiod receptors. This means that it can produce similar results as other naturally occurring chemicals in human body and stimulate the body’s opiod receptors. This activation allows Menthol to deliver its analgesic properties to the human body and reduce the pain from Busitis.
Menthol also produces an effect known as vasodilation. Vasodilation is the widening of the body’s blood vessels and arteries. This has the effect of increased blood flow and supply to various parts of the body. The result is simple, inflammation goes down.
Australian Eucalyptus Oil:
Not many people are aware of the amazing benefits they can gain from the use of Eucalyptus Oil. It is also a key ingredient in Privic’s Bursitis relief spray because of such medicinal qualities. Although Eucalyptus Oil is produced all over the world, Australian Eucalyptus Oil is high grade genuine and bears a quality guarantee to be more potent and effective.
Eucalyptus Oil has several medicinal properties. The most important ones being that it is an antiseptic. This means that Eucalyptus oil can kill germs and prevent their growth. It also has a very amazing ability which is that it can stimulate the human immune system especially macrophages. Much like Menthol crystals, Eucalyptus oil also bears to a certain degree anti inflammatory and analgesic properties, both very much needed by people suffering from bursitis.
The science behind it:
The reason for Eucalyptus oil’s amazing properties is the presence of a natural organic compound, cineol. Cineol is also sometimes known as Eucalyptol. Eucalyptus oil is supposed to contain a minimum 70% of cineol. Cineol itself it scientifically tested to have anti inflammatory properties.
Camphor is produced from the wood of camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora). This drug/ cooking ingredient has been in use for a very long time. Earlier on, its primary uses were as an ingredient in various culinary delights and sweets. But it also possesses a remarkable array of medicinal qualities. Such qualities are of very high use and importance for Bursitis treatments. One of these is an Anesthetic quality of camphor. Anesthetic means that it provides a numbing effect. This numbing effect is only limited to the applied area and not the entire body. This is very useful because it essentially reduces or removes the pain due to bursitis.
Sweet birch oil is also an active ingredient in this treatment for shoulder bursitis, elbow bursitis, in-fact all types of bursitis. Sweet Birch oil is not really known by many people. It is the oil of the bark of Betula Lenta tree commonly found in North America. The most important constituent of Sweet Birch oil is Methyl salicylate. The effects of Sweet Birch oil also include an anti inflammatory and analgesic feeling for the applied part of the body.
Peppermint and Clove bud oil:
Peppermint oil is very easy to point out in the list of ingredients. This oil is used because of the presence of high quantities of Menthol in it. It also contains Cineol and o it is an automatic plus as a treatment for Bursitis.
Clove oil has an interesting aromatic compound as its main ingredient know as eugenol. Eugenol has anesthetic properties and is partly the reason why it is employed in this bursitis treatment.
Benefits of Privic’s Bursitis relief spray:
Anyone could’ve realized by now that other than the rubbing alcohol, most of the ingredients used in this treatment method are as natural as can be and not full of toxic chemicals and compounds for no reason whatsoever. The oils from various herbs and plants can also contain vitamins and minerals which can provide added benefits. Though in very small amounts, but anything you get is a bonus.
But of course being natural is only part of the benefits of this product over its various competitors. Unlike most drugs and sprays, the oils and powders employed into creating this spray are more or less soluble in alcoholic liquids and mediums. This means that they can be easily dissolved and prepared in the rubbing alcohol without having to heat any of them. Heating chemicals and oils can cause changes in the chemical structures and lead to a decrease in efficiency of the medicine. This makes Privic’s Bursitis relied spray a lot more effective as compared to manufactured and heat processed treatments which probably reduce the efficiency of their already few natural ingredients.
The use of rubbing alcohol, Isopropyl, also means that it is easy to absorb and yields quicker results compared to creams and lotions which must be thoroughly massaged for good penetration into the skin.
The spray is non greasy even though it contains several oils. The balance between the oils and the alcohol in the formula is very calculated to yield both results and ensure little to no greasy and oily effect lasting on the skin.
This product is not limited to one use. It doesn’t just treat elbow bursitis, shoulder bursitis and all other types of bursitis, but it actually deals with headaches too. The unique formula employed in this product can help reduce headaches and provide you with relief within minutes. It also reduces twitching due to headaches. This means that even after you have gotten rid of bursitis, you can keep this spray bottle ready to treat a headache which isn’t really as nasty as a pain due to trochanteric bursitis but occurs a lot more frequently.
Not many side effects exist because of natural ingredients. You should still practice caution and try to test by applying to a small patch on the skin. If there is itching, redness, irritation or pain, immediately consult your physician and discontinue use of the product. If you are allergic in any way to any of the ingredients, do not use this product.
Without a doubt you should realize that this product is not a miracle. Results may vary from individual to individual. You MUST ALWAYS seek professional counsel before you opt for any type of treatment plan. Always consult your physician before taking any type of medicine, irrespective of whether it is internal or external.
